Anuj Ranjan, an 18-year veteran of Brookfield Asset Management, was named the new CEO of the firm's private equity group, a spokesperson said.
He replaces Cyrus Madon, who is now executive chairman of the private equity business. Madon remains actively involved with the business, the spokesperson said.
Ranjan had been president of the global private equity group. Brookfield's private equity business has about $140 billion in assets under management. The business includes a buyout strategy, flexible capital solutions, secondaries and a public industrials and business services company, Brookfield Business Partners.
