The Senate on Thursday confirmed the nomination of Hester M. Peirce and Caroline Crenshaw to the Securities and Exchange Commission, making a full commission with three Republicans and two Democrats.
Ms. Peirce, a Republican, has served on the commission since January 2018 and was renominated in June to a term that expires in June 2025. She is a former senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University who also worked at the SEC and in the Senate.
Ms. Crenshaw, a Democrat, was nominated in June for a term expiring in June 2024. She previously served as a staff member for former commissioners Robert J. Jackson Jr. and Kara M. Stein. She is currently senior counsel at the SEC and a captain in the Army JAG Corps.
