Pensions & Investments has named a chief operating officer, a new associate editor and made other new business appointments.
Nikki Pirrello, associate group publisher, conferences and marketing services, was named chief operating officer at P&I. It is a new position.
Ms. Pirrello, who has been with P&I since 2007, will work alongside President and Publisher Chris J. Battaglia to identify new areas of growth for the brand and oversee business operations. She is based in New York.
Meaghan Offerman has been named associate editor at Pensions & Investments.
In this new role, Ms. Offerman serves as the lead editor on special reports and is the main contact for articles contributed by members of the institutional investing industry.
Ms. Offerman (formerly Kilroy) first joined the publication in 2014 as a reporter for P&I Daily in Chicago, later picking up parts of the defined contribution and ESG beats. She left P&I in 2018 to move downstate with her husband and recently moved back to the Chicago area, where she is based.
Most recently, Ms. Offerman worked as a content strategist and editor-in-chief for Shores Communications.
On the business side, in addition to Ms. Pirrello's promotion, Usha James was named group director of conferences where she will help expand P&I's conference efforts. It also is a new position. Previously, Ms. James worked as director of event operations at Money20/20 USA and Informa. Ms. James is based in New York.
Also, Gauri Goyal was named director of content solutions at P&I, replacing Greg Crawford who left the company for another opportunity. Ms. Goyal will oversee content strategy for sponsored content and thought leadership. She has previously worked as director of programming for the company's defined contribution conferences and as a freelance writer for P&I. She is based in Boston.
