Caryl Anne Francia has joined Pensions & Investments as an editorial intern, based in New York.
Before joining P&I on Sept. 18, Francia worked as an editorial intern and freelance writer for the markets team at Morningstar. She focused on stock movements, economic reports and corporate news, including IPOs and earnings.
At P&I, Francia will cover breaking news as well as work on longer-form enterprise and features, including its annual Best Places to Work in Money Management program.
Francia holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Baruch College, where she is a founding member of the journalism department's alumni advisory committee. She is also the founding secretary of the collegiate chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
At The Ticker — Baruch's independent student-run newspaper — she held a variety of roles, most recently serving as its longest-running female business editor.
A native of the Philippines, Francia spent most of her life in Queens, where her interest in news was developed at Francis Lewis High School's journalism program.
