Harald von Heyden has been appointed as global head of unlisted renewable energy infrastructure at Norges Bank Investment Management, according to a statement on LinkedIn from NBIM.
NBIM manages the assets of the 15.27 trillion Norwegian kroner ($1.48 trillion) Government Pension Fund Global, Oslo.
The fund has had a mandate to invest in unlisted renewable energy infrastructure since 2020. However, von Heyden's role is a newly created position.
"Harald has extensive experience within renewables, both from the industry and from investment banking," said Mie Caroline Holstad, chief investment officer real assets at NGIM.
Previously, von Heyden was partner and head of renewable energy at Arctic Securities, a Norwegian investment bank specializing in corporate finance transactions and advisory services. Arctic did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding his replacement. Von Heyden also serves on the advisory board of sustainability data firm ClimatePoint.
