Allen Waldrop was named director of private equity at the $77.3 billion Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., Juneau.
He will join the sovereign wealth fund on Oct. 17, spokeswoman Paulyn Swanson said in an email. Mr. Waldrop will lead APFC's efforts in its $16.1 billion private equity and special opportunities portfolio.
In May, Steve Moseley, deputy chief investment officer – private markets and head of alternatives and private markets, left the sovereign wealth fund to join Wafra as a managing director leading a new co-investment strategy.
Ms. Swanson would not say if Mr. Waldrop was a direct replacement for Mr. Moseley.
Mr. Waldrop was previously a managing director at alternative asset manager Grafine Partners. Elizabeth Weymouth, founder and managing partner at Grafine Partners, said in an email, "We are very excited that Allen has the opportunity to lend his considerable talents to such a great institution." She did not provide further information on a replacement.
