Wyoming Retirement System, Cheyenne, disclosed manager hires, commitments and investments totaling $400 million, said Sam Masoudi, chief investment officer, in an email.
The $9.9 billion pension fund hired EARNEST Partners to manage $150 million and Neuberger Berman Group to run $100 million in active domestic smidcap value equities.
Mr. Masoudi could not be immediately reached regarding a funding source.
Also, the pension fund invested $65 million in the iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF, a passive high-yield ETF managed by BlackRock; and made an additional $25 million investment in Sprott Physical Uranium Trust, a commodity ETF managed by Sprott Asset Management.
The pension fund originally invested $50 million in the Sprott ETF in 2021.
Also, the pension fund committed €20 million ($20 million) to Antin Infrastructure Partners V and $20 million each to middle-market buyout fund Sentinel Capital Partners VII and Spectrum Equity X, a growth equity fund managed by Spectrum Equity Management.
As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation was 34.1% marketable equities, 18.8% marketable alternatives, 13.4% each marketable fixed income and private real assets, 12.2% private equity, 4.6% private debt and 3.5% cash with overlay.
