Worcester (Mass.) Retirement System rehired State Street Global Advisors to manage a total of about $240 million in six passive equity portfolios.
The $1.1 billion pension fund's board approved the rehiring of SSGA at its Aug. 19 meeting, recently released meeting minutes show.
The pension fund issued an RFP in June to comply with state law that requires the services must be put up for bid every seven years, according to the meeting minutes.
There were five responses to the RFP, and there were no finalist presentations.
The RFP originally listed the passive portfolios as $70 million in international equities, $45 million each in domestic large-cap growth, value and core equities, $20 million in small-cap core and $15 million in midcap core.
Investment consultant Meketa Investment Group assisted.
Lisa Poske, the pension fund's executive secretary, could not be immediately reached for further information.
