State of Wisconsin Investment Board, Madison, committed $70 million to Altriarch Asset Management, a private credit firm, according to an Oct. 22 news release issued by Altriarch.
The investment includes $20 million allocated to Altriarch's Specialty Finance Fund, which was launched in August 2023 and seeks to deploy capital through a network of secured finance operators across the U.S.
The remaining $50 million is designated as seed capital for a forthcoming strategy structured to complement Altriarch's current capabilities, the release noted.
Altriarch could not be immediately reached for further details.
SWIB declined to comment, but according to the system’s website, no other Altriarch vehicles were listed in the portfolio as of Dec. 31.
SWIB manages the assets of the Wisconsin Retirement System, the State Investment Fund and other state trust funds. As of June 30, SWIB managed more than $160 billion of total assets, with approximately 85% representing WRS assets.
As of March 31, WRS’ core trust fund’s actual allocation to private equity/debt was 19.4%.
