Western Digital Corp., San Jose, Calif., hired Empower Retirement as record keeper of its 401(k) plan.
Empower Retirement will replace T. Rowe Price Group, the company disclosed in an 8-K filing with the SEC on Nov. 19. A reason for the change was not provided.
A blackout period for participants will begin at 4 p.m. EST on Dec. 23 and end during the week of Jan. 9.
As of Dec. 31, the Western Digital Corp. 401(k) Plan had $2.2 billion in assets, according to the company's most recent 11-K filing.
Company spokeswoman Erin Hartin could not be immediately reached for further information.
