Washington State Investment Board, Olympia, disclosed a total of up to $800 million in new private equity commitments, spokeswoman Tish Day said.
The board, which oversees $202.8 billion in assets, including $165.1 billion in its commingled trust fund of defined benefit plan assets, was informed at its Sept. 19 meeting of staff-delegated commitments of up to $400 million and $200 million, respectively, to large-cap buyout fund Thoma Bravo Fund XVI and middle-market buyout fund Thoma Bravo Discover Fund V, and up to $200 million to software-focused middle-market buyout fund Luminate Capital Partners IV.
WSIB previously committed up to $200 million each to buyout funds Thoma Bravo Fund XV and Thoma Bravo Discover Fund IV in 2022, and up to $100 million to Luminate Capital Partners III in 2020.
As of March 31, the actual allocation to private equity was 29%.
