Virginia Retirement System, Richmond, committed $482 million to private equity, credit strategies and real assets. The actions were announced at the $82 billion pension fund's board meeting Thursday.
In private equity, the pension fund committed $200 million to Veritas Capital Fund VII, a large-market buyout fund focused on government-influenced markets.
In credit strategies, the pension fund committed $200 million to HPS Mezzanine Partners 2019, a closed-end fund managed by HPS Investment Partners.
In real assets, the pension fund committed €75 million ($82 million) to Europa Fund VI, a closed-end fund investing in European real estate managed by Europa Capital.
