Virginia Retirement System, Richmond, disclosed new private equity and real assets commitments totaling $340 million.
The $98 billion pension fund committed €170 million ($200 million) to European middle-market buyout fund Charterhouse Capital Partners XI, $100 million to Aplomado Partners, an energy infrastructure fund focusing on U.S.-based solar ground leases, and $40 million to ABRY Senior Equity VI, a mezzanine debt fund managed by ABRY Partners.
The three commitments closed April 23 to May 19, according to VRS' June 10 board meeting materials.
As of April 30, the pension fund's actual allocations to private equity and real assets were 14.6% and 12.1%, respectively.
