University of Alabama System's investment committee approved two private equity commitments totaling up to $35 million for its $1.9 billion pooled endowment fund.
The Tuscaloosa-based university's investment committee approved the actions at its June 9 meeting, a video of the meeting shows.
The commitments were up to $20 million to middle-market private equity fund Sentinel Capital Partners VII and up to $15 million to River VIII, a middle-market private equity fund managed by River Associates.
As of March 31, the endowment fund's actual allocation to private equity was 19.3%.
Investment consultant Fund Evaluation Group assisted.
