Texas Tech University System, Lubbock, is searching for an investment consultant for its $1.3 billion endowment, Chris M. Gailey, operations manager in the system's office of investments, said in an email.
The system issued an RFP due to a system policy that mandates services be put up for bid every six years. Current consultant NEPC is invited to rebid.
As of Aug. 31, 2018, the most recent data available, the long-term investment fund's actual allocation was 32% equities, 31% private investments, 22% debt, 13% diversifying assets, and the rest in portfolio hedges, cash and alpha.
The RFP is available on the system's purchasing website. Registration is required. Proposals are due at 4 p.m. CDT on Aug. 1. The system plans to make a selection on Aug. 12.
Tim Barrett, the system's associate vice chancellor and chief investment officer, referred questions to Mr. Gailey.
