Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed $50 million to Silver Lake Strategic Investors VI.
The $179.7 billion pension fund's investment staff completed the commitment to the buyout fund managed by Silver Lake Partners on April 28, according to an April transaction report emailed by spokesman Rob Maxwell.
TRS has made multiple commitments to Silver Lake funds, most recently committing $20 million to SLP Mistral Co-Invest, a large buyout co-investment fund, in 2020.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity was 17.4%; its long-term policy target is 14%.
