Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, disclosed commitments totaling $653 million to alternative investment strategies in July, according to a transaction report emailed by spokesman Rob Maxwell.
Within private equity, the $179.9 billion pension fund's investment officers committed $100 million to growth equity fund Insight Venture Partners XII and $50 million to buyout fund Insight Venture Partners XII Buyout Annex Fund, both managed by Insight Partners; $100 million to European buyout fund Permira Growth Opportunities II; $55 million to buyout fund Alpine Investors VIII; $34 million to HB Holdings, a venture capital and growth equity fund managed by TA Associates; and $10 million to GHP SPV-2, a buyout fund managed by Great Hill Partners.
Within real estate, investment officers committed $100 million to PCCP Equity IX, an opportunistic real estate fund; and $54 million to USEF Whisper Pooling 2, a core real estate fund managed by USAA Equity Advisors.
Finally, within the pension fund's energy, natural resources and infrastructure asset class, investment officers committed $150 million to infrastructure fund Nuveen Ag Infrastructure Fund.
