Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $175 million to private equity funds in January, according to a transaction report from spokesman Rob Maxwell.
The $187.1 billion pension fund committed $125 million to CVC Capital Partners Asia VI, an Asia-focused buyout fund.
The pension fund also committed $50 million to Trinity Hunt Partners VII, a domestic buyout fund.
Texas Teachers has an existing relationship with CVC Capital Partners, but the relationship with Trinity Hunt Management is new.
As of Sept. 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity was 17.7%; its long-term target is 14%.
