Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $146 million to three alternatives funds in October, spokesman Rob Maxwell said in an email.
The $193.1 billion pension fund committed $100 million to GIP Aquarius Fund, a value-added real estate fund managed by Global Infrastructure Management; $31 million to CD&R Market Co-Investor, a buyout co-investment fund managed by Clayton Dublier & Rice, and $15 million to Sunshine Co-Investment Partners, a buyout co-investment fund managed by Clearlake Capital Group.
TRS has existing relationships with all three managers, Mr. Maxwell said.
As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocations to private equity and real estate were 16.3% and 12.5%, respectively.
