The $28.7 billion Texas Employees Retirement System, Austin, is searching for a private equity consultant to advise on the fund's $4 billion private equity portfolio.
The RFP is posted on the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts website.
The fund "routinely rebids service contracts to ensure best value to the state," said Betty Martin, director of investment services, in an email.
ERS's incumbent private equity consultant, Pavilion Financial Corp., which was acquired by Mercer at the end of 2018, may rebid.
The fund's board of trustees will select a private equity consultant at its March 2020 meeting. The date of the meeting has not been set.
The six-year contract will begin in April 2020, Ms. Martin said.
RFP responses are due Oct. 4.
