The $28.3 billion Texas Employees Retirement System, Austin, committed $94 million to three alternative investment strategies in December, according to a transaction report.
Investment officials committed $50 million from ERS' $3.1 billion real estate portfolio to Principal Digital Real Estate Fund, which will seek investment in data center properties. The fund is managed by Principal Global Investors, a new manager to the system.
A total of $44 million was committed to two co-investments from the system's $4.5 billion private equity portfolio.
The largest private equity co-vestment fund, CO20201215, received a $30 million commitment and CO20201210 was awarded a $14 million commitment.
As a matter of policy Texas ERS does not disclose the names or managers of co-investment funds.
