Texas Employees Retirement System, Austin, made new alternative investment commitments totaling $315 million in August, a new transaction report shows.
Within its $4.1 billion real estate portfolio, the $34 billion system committed $100 million each to Blue Vista City Select Fund, a real estate fund managed by Blue Vista Capital Management, and GI Real Estate Essential Tech + Science Fund, a technology and life sciences-focused real estate fund managed by GI Partners; and $25 million to Camber Creek Fund IV, a venture capital fund that targets technology companies that serve the real estate market.
The system's private real estate team also made commitments to two co-investment funds: $13 million to CO20210831 and $10 million to CO20210818. Within the system's $5.9 billion private equity portfolio, the system's private equity team also made two commitments to co-investment funds in August: $17 million to CO20210830 and $10 million to CO20210806.
The system doesn't reveal names of managers or investments in co-investments as a matter of policy.
Finally, in its $1.5 billion hedge fund portfolio, the system invested $40 million in Orion Commodities Delaware Fund, managed by Orion Commodities Management.
