The $32.1 billion Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed $50 million to a new private equity fund run by an existing manager, a transaction report showed.
From TCDRS' $5.1 billion private equity portfolio, investment officers committed $50 million to Charlesbank Technology Opportunities Fund, a tech-focused buyout fund managed by Charlesbank Capital Partners.
Including the new Charlesbank commitment, TCDRS investment officers committed a total of $120 million to two private equity strategies as of Jan. 30.
In all of 2019, the fund committed a total of $1.2 billion to 28 private equity and venture capital strategies managed by 27 firm's last year's transaction report showed.
