Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $100 million to two private equity managers, a transaction report showed.
The investment team of the $30.4 billion pension fund committed $50 million to Vista Equity Endeavor Fund II, a buyout fund run by existing manager Vista Equity Partners Management.
TCDRS also earmarked $50 million to Carnelian Energy Capital II, a lower to middle-market buyout fund focused on investments in North American upstream, midstream and oilfield service sectors. Energy specialist Carnelian Energy Capital is a new private equity manager for the pension fund.
Including the two latest commitments, TCDRS' portfolio team committed a total of $881 million to 14 private equity or venture capital strategies run by 13 asset managers year-to-date July 1.
In 2018, the pension fund committed a total of $1 billion to 19 strategies managed by 14 managers from its private equity/venture capital asset class, transaction reports showed.
