Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, made its first commitment of the year from the system's $6.8 billion private equity/venture capital portfolio, a transaction report for the $35.7 billion pension fund showed.
Investment officers on Wednesday committed $35 million to venture capital fund Juxtapose Ventures II. Juxtapose Ventures is a new manager for the fund. On its website, the firm said "we partner with the world's most experienced and talented entrepreneurs to found and scale consumer tech companies that move the world forward."
In January, TCDRS revised its online list of private equity/venture capital commitments in all of 2020 to show that a total of $2 billion was committed to 32 strategies run 25 managers, transaction reports showed.
