Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, Nashville, made new private equity and real estate commitments totaling $279 million, according to Shelli King, spokeswoman for state Treasurer David H. Lillard Jr., who oversees the pension fund.
In private equity, the $66.1 billion pension fund committed $125 million to North American middle-market buyout fund Harvest Partners IX.
As of June 30, TCRS' actual allocation to private equity was 10.3%.
In real estate, the pension fund committed $100 million to value-added Asana Partners Fund III and a total of $54 million to AEW Real Estate Partners Fund IX and Acquisition Portfolio Co-Investment, managed by AEW Capital Management.
Of the $54 million, the pension fund committed $50 million to the co-investment and $4 million to the main opportunistic fund, Ms. King said.
As of June 30, the pension fund's real estate allocation was 8.9%.
