Taunton (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System launched four searches: a large-cap growth equity manager to run $30 million; a large-cap value equity manager to run $22 million; an international fixed-income manager to run $9 million, and an open-end agriculture manager to run $6 million.
Dahab Associates, investment consultant for the $300 million defined benefit plan, is assisting with the searches.
The searches are being conducted to comply with state law requiring contracts be put up for rebid every few years, said Chris Mills, senior research analyst at Dahab.

Barksdale & Associates is its large-cap value equity manager, Brandywine Global Investment Management it its international fixed-income manager and Ceres Partners manages capital in an agriculture mandate on behalf of the pension fund. All four managers are invited to rebid.
The RFPs are available on Dahab's website. Proposals for the large-cap value and open-end agriculture searches are due at noon EDT on Sept. 2. The large-cap growth and international fixed-income searches are due at noon EDT on Sept. 3. There is currently no timetable for selecting managers, Mr. Mills said.
