Stichting Pensioenfonds ING, Amsterdam, hired Robeco Group as partner for its socially responsible investing program.
Robeco will advise the €26 billion ($28.7 billion) pension fund on various SRI issues, prepare reports on SRI investments and provide proxy services on behalf of the pension fund at shareholders meetings, according to a news release from the pension fund Tuesday.
"We want to give substance to the pension agreements that ING Bank and NN Group have placed with us for their (former) employees," said Wim van Iersel, executive director at Stichting Pensioenfonds ING, in the release.
Spokesmen for ING did not immediately respond to requests for further information.
