St. Louis Firefighters' Retirement Plan hired Argent Capital Management, Copeland Capital Management and Kayne Anderson Rudnick as active domestic equity portfolio managers.
The $108 million pension fund hired Argent Capital and Kayne Anderson Rudnick to run midcap portfolios and Copeland Capital to run a small-cap portfolio, according to Oct. 29 board meeting minutes.
The pension fund issued an RFP in December 2019 after deciding to split its smidcap equity portfolio into separate small-cap and midcap portfolios, Kevin Condy, director of research at Dahab Associates, said at the time. Dahab Associates is the pension fund's investment consultant and assisted with the search.
Funding will come from smidcap manager Great Lakes Advisors, which was invited to bid for the new portfolios, Mr. Condy said at the time. Whether the firm did so could not be immediately learned.
The sizes of the portfolios could not be immediately learned.
Mr. Condy and Janice Fairless, manager of the retirement plan, could not be immediately reached for further information.
