St. Louis Employees' Retirement System hired Wasatch Advisors to manage about $18 million in active domestic small-cap value equities, said Rich Olliges, accounting officer.
The $808 million pension fund issued an RFP in November 2019 for a manager to replace Fisher Investments, which the pension fund's board terminated the previous month based on the conduct of Kenneth L. Fisher, the firm's founder, executive chairman and co-chief investment officer.
Fisher Investments spokesman John Dillard had declined to comment in November beyond a previously released apology from Mr. Fisher.
Assets have been temporarily parked in a domestic small-cap equity index fund managed by Fidelity Investments. Mr. Olliges could not provide finalist information.
