St. Louis City Employees Retirement System issued an RFP for an active non-U.S. small-cap core equity manager approved by the board of the $900 million pension fund.
Prospective candidates must have at least $250 million in assets under management in non-U.S. small-cap stocks and have at least a seven-year track record of managing such assets.
The initial amount to be managed is estimated to initially be about $26 million, subject to change.
Proposals are due by 4 p.m. CDT on May 23.
A timeline for candidate selection was not provided.
Tara Murphy, assistant vice president-client service at Marquette Associates, the pension plan's investment consultant, said the pension fund is “currently invested in an international small-cap index ETF.”
