Southwestern Energy Co., Spring, Texas, changed the investment options lineup of its 401(k) plan in 2020, according to its 11-K filing Monday with the SEC.
A comparison of this year's and last year's 11-K filings shows the plan changed every fund offered in the lineup, except for a stable value fund managed by Columbia Threadneedle Investments and two common-stock funds.
First, the plan added an American Funds target-date fund series in 2020. The series of six target-date funds managed by Capital Group had $56 million in total assets in the plan as of Dec. 31, according to the new 11-K filing.
As of Dec. 31, 2019, the plan had a similar series of seven target-date funds managed by T. Rowe Price Group, which had $54 million in total assets in the plan, according to the prior 11-K filing.
Also in 2020, the plan added four index funds managed by Fidelity Investments.
As of Dec. 31, the Fidelity 500 Index Fund, , Fidelity Small Cap Index Fund, Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund and Fidelity Total International Index Fund had $24 million, $9 million, $2 million and $2 million, respectively, in assets in the plan, according to the new 11-K filing.
The plan also added the T. Rowe Price Large Cap Growth Fund, an active domestic large-cap growth equity fund managed by T. Rowe Price Group; the Davis International Fund, an active international large-cap equity fund managed by Davis Selected Advisers; the J.P. Morgan Equity Income Fund, an active domestic large-cap value equity fund managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management; the Baird Aggregate Bond Institutional Fund, an active domestic fixed-income fund managed by Robert W. Baird & Co.; and the American Funds American Balanced Fund, an asset allocation fund managed by Capital Group.
As of Dec. 31, those funds had $18 million, $10 million, $6 million, $6 million and $1 million, respectively, in assets in the plan, according to the new 11-K filing.
Among the funds removed by the plan in 2020 were three iShares index funds managed by BlackRock.
As of Dec. 31, 2019, the iShares S&P 500 Index Fund, iShares MSCI EAFE International Fund and iShares U.S. Aggregate Bond Index Fund had $25 million, $3 million and $2 million, respectively, in assets in the plan, according to the prior 11-K filing.
Also during 2020, the plan removed the American Funds The Growth Fund of America, an active domestic large-cap growth equity fund managed by Capital Group; the Goldman Sachs Small Cap Equity Insights Fund, an active domestic small-cap growth equity fund managed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management; the American Funds EuroPacific Growth Fund, an active international growth equity fund managed by Capital Group; the LSV Value Equity Fund, an active domestic large-cap value equity fund managed by LSV Asset Management; and the Wells Fargo Advantage Core Bond Fund, an active domestic core fixed-income fund managed by Wells Fargo Asset Management.
As of Dec. 31, 2019, those funds had $15 million, $10 million, $9 million, $8 million and $7 million, respectively, in assets in the plan, according to the prior 11-K filing.
The new 11-K filing did not provide reasons for the changes.
As of Dec. 31, the Southwestern Energy Co. 401(k) Savings Plan had $147 million in assets, according to the new 11-K filing.
