South Dakota Investment Council, Sioux Falls, approved commitments totaling up to $250 million to Silver Lake Partners VII, said Tammy Otten, assistant investment officer, in an email.
The council approved the commitments in aggregate to the buyout fund to be distributed from the various funds it oversees in proportion to their asset sizes.
Ms. Otten said the individual commitment amounts have yet to be determined.
The council previously committed totals of up to $180 million to Silver Lake Partners VI in 2020 and up to $200 million to Silver Lake Partners V in 2017.
The South Dakota Investment Council oversees investment management of the $14.6 billion South Dakota Retirement System, $726 million Education Enhancement Trust Fund, $379 million Dakota Cement Trust Fund, $379 million School & Public Lands Fund and $223 million Health Care Trust Fund.
