South Dakota Investment Council, Sioux Falls, approved commitments totaling up to $300 million to Blackstone Real Estate Partners X.
The council at its June 2 meeting approved the commitments in aggregate to the global real estate fund to be distributed from the various funds it oversees in proportion to their asset sizes, confirmed Tammy Otten, assistant investment officer, in an email.
The specific amounts from each fund are not yet available, Ms. Otten said.
The council previously committed up to $100 million in aggregate to Blackstone Real Estate Partners Asia III in 2021.
The South Dakota Investment Council oversees the investment management of the $14.6 billion South Dakota Retirement System, $726 million Education Enhancement Trust Fund, $379 million Dakota Cement Trust Fund, $379 million School & Public Lands Fund and $223 million Health Care Trust Fund.
