South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority, Columbia, rehired Empower Retirement as bundled provider for the state's $3.9 billion 401(k) plan and $1.1 billion 457 plan, according to an intent to award notice posted on July 22 on the state’s procurement website.
The authority issued an RFP in January due to the upcoming expiration of Empower Retirement’s contract on Dec. 31. The firm was also the incumbent provider in 2019 when the services were last put up for bid and was rehired.
The notice did not say whether there were any finalist presentations.
