South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, Columbia, disclosed $770 million in commitments for the $39.2 billion South Carolina Retirement Systems' investment portfolio.
The commitments were made from June through August, according to board documents from the commission's Sept. 23 meeting.
In real estate, the council committed $250 million to CBRE U.S. Core Partners, an open-end, U.S.-focused core real estate fund managed by CBRE Global Investors, and $100 million to Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners IV, a global opportunistic real estate fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
In private debt, $150 million was committed to Owl Rock First Lien Fund II, a direct lending fund managed by Owl Rock Capital Advisors, and $55 million to Eagle Point Defensive Income Fund, which invests in certain types of senior unsecured debt or preferred equity securities and is managed by Eagle Point Credit Management.
And in private equity, the council committed $75 million to WestCap Strategic Operator U.S. Feeder Fund II managed by WestCap Group; $50 million to Industry Ventures Partnership Holdings VI, a venture capital fund of funds; and $50 million to Horsley Bridge Venture 14, a venture capital fund of funds, and $40 million to Horsley Bridge Venture 14 Plus, a related co-investment vehicle, both managed by Horsley Bridge Partners.
