South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, Columbia, disclosed up to $150 million in alternatives commitments for the $38.2 billion South Carolina Retirement Systems’ investment portfolio, according to documents from the commission’s meeting Thursday.
The commission committed $75 million to Basalt Infrastructure Partners IV, an infrastructure fund focused on midmarket investments in utilities, power, transport and communications infrastructure in North America and Europe, according to Basalt’s website.
Also, the commission committed up to $75 million to Stockbridge Value Fund V, a diversified U.S. real estate fund managed by Stockbridge Capital Group.
The commitments were made in March and April.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund’s real assets allocation was 13.9%.
