San Joaquin County Employees' Retirement Association, Stockton, Calif., committed $63 million to Ares Pathfinder Fund II, a credit special situations fund managed by Ares Management.
The board approved the investment May 5, according to an information packet released in conjunction with SJCERA's board meeting Aug. 11.
This is the pension fund's first investment with Ares Management, confirmed Johanna Shick, chief executive officer of the $4 billion SJCERA, in an email Wednesday.
