San Francisco City & County Employees’ Retirement System disclosed two new commitments totaling $125 million in a report from CEO/CIO Alison Romano included with materials for its upcoming Sept. 11 board meeting.
The $36.4 billion pension fund committed $75 million to Sculptor Real Estate Fund V, an opportunistic real estate fund managed by Sculptor Capital Management, and $50 million to buyout fund Thoma Bravo Discover Fund V.
Sculptor Capital Management is a new manager for the pension fund. SFERS has made numerous commitments to Thoma Bravo funds, most recently committing up to $200 million in aggregate to Thoma Bravo Fund XV, Thoma Bravo Discover Fund IV and Thoma Bravo Explore Fund II in 2021.
As of Aug. 31, the pension fund’s actual allocations to private equity and real assets were 27.7% and 14.4%, respectively; their respective targets are 20% and 10%.
