San Francisco City & County Employees’ Retirement System invested $100 million in Qube Fund.
The $36.5 billion pension fund disclosed the investment in the multistrategy hedge fund managed by Qube Research & Technologies in a report from CEO/CIO Alison Romano included with materials for its upcoming March 12 board meeting.
The investment, which closed March 1, was made through San Francisco Absolute Return Investors II, a limited partnership between SFERS and Blackstone Alternative Asset Management.
SFERS has made multiple investments with Qube Research & Technologies through SFARI II, including $75 million in the manager’s Torus Feeder 2 fund.
As of Feb. 28, the pension fund’s actual allocation to absolute return was 9.6%; the target is 10%.
