San Diego City Employees' Retirement System hired Meketa Investment Group as its real estate consultant.
The $10.8 billion pension fund's board approved the hiring at its Nov. 5 meeting, said Elizabeth Crisafi, chief investment officer.
The pension fund issued an RFP in July as a result of its policy to put services up for bid every three to five years. Current real estate consultant Townsend Group did rebid for the services and was the other finalist.
SDCERS' target allocation to real estate is 11%.
