San Antonio Fire & Police Pension Fund selected Summit Creek Advisors to run $20 million in a domestic midcap growth equities strategy within its emerging manager program, recently released board minutes show.
The search was launched in February after the previous manager of the allocation, Cooke & Bieler, graduated from the emerging manager program into the pension fund's domestic small-cap equities portfolio. Granite Investment Partners and Lisanti Capital Growth were the other finalists.
Funding will come from a Russell 1000 Core index fund.
The board made the decision at its July 28 meeting.
Cary Hally, chief investment officer for the $4 billion plan, could not be immediately reached for additional information.
