Sacramento County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement System disclosed commitments and investments totaling $85 million in a transaction report included with upcoming Aug. 18 board meeting materials.
The $11.8 billion pension fund disclosed a direct hedge fund investment of $45 million in macro hedge fund Eisler Capital Fund and a commitment of $20 million to Shamrock Debt Opportunities Fund I, a direct lending fund managed by Shamrock Capital Advisors.
The pension fund also disclosed additional hedge fund investments of $5 million each in BlackRock Event Driven Equity Fund; Davidson Kempner Institutional Partners, a credit-oriented hedge fund managed by Davidson Kempner Capital Management; and PSquared Event Opportunity Fund, an event-driven fund managed by PSquared Asset Management.
As of June 30, the pension fund had $54 million, $59 million, and $51 million, respectively, invested in each fund.
The pension fund also invested $5 million in long/short equity fund Marshall Wace Global Opportunities. The pension fund originally invested $40 million in the fund in 2019. According to its most recent investment report, the pension fund was not invested in that fund as of June 30.
As of June 30, the actual allocations to private equity and diversifying absolute return were 11.1% and 6.8%, respectively.
