Sacramento County (Calif.) Employees' Retirement System made a $20 million commitment to New Enterprise Associates 17, a venture capital fund, documents from the $9.5 billion pension fund show.
SCERS previously committed to New Enterprise Associates 14, 15 and 16.
The documents also noted Carlyle Group remains on watch because of "the change in management structure and increased risk of further management team departures." SCERS committed $40 million to Carlyle's China Rome Logistics Fund and $10 million to its China Realty Fund, both real estate opportunity funds. Both funds have been on watch since September.
Steve Davis, chief investment officer of SCERS, could not be immediately reached for additional information.
