Plymouth County (Mass.) Retirement Association is searching for an active global equity manager to run between $20 million and $40 million.
The $1.4 billion pension fund is conducting the search to comply with the requirements of the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission that services must be put up for bid every seven years, according to a search notice posted on the website of investment consultant Meketa Investment Group, which is assisting with the search.
The RFP does not disclose the name of the current manager or whether the firm is eligible to rebid. According to the pension fund's most recent investment report, Wellington Management ran $49 million, Kopernik Global Investors and LMCG Investments ran $43 million each and First Eagle Investment Management ran $27 million as of Dec. 31.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to global equities was 11.6%.
The RFP is available on DiligenceVault. Registration is required. Proposals are due on March 15. A timeline for a selection was not provided.
