Orange County, Santa Ana, Calif., rehired Empower Retirement as bundled provider for three 457 plans, two 401(a) plans and a frozen 3121 plan for temporary employees, Susie Kim, project manager for the county's human resources department, said in an email.
The county issued an RFP in December due to county requirements that services must be put up for bid every five years, Ms. Kim said at the time. A total of four firms bid for the services; there were no other finalists.
The plans have a combined $1.6 billion in assets. The vast majority, $1.55 billion, is held in one primary 457 plan.
