Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., committed a total of $375 million to six alternative investment funds, a staff report showed.
The $21 billion pension fund committed $100 million to Collective Global Fund I, managed by Collective Global, a firm established in 2023 to take general partner stakes in established venture capital firms.
OCERS committed $75 million to Oaktree Real Estate Opportunities Fund IX, an opportunistic real estate fund managed by Oaktree Capital Management that focuses on distressed debt, recapitalizations, rescue financing and discounted security purchases.
Pension fund officials also committed a total of $75 million to Quantum Capital Solutions II and Quantum Capital Solutions II Co-investment, which invest in upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors, mainly through joint ventures with public companies. Both funds are managed by Quantum Energy Partners.
The pension fund also committed $75 million to LS Power Equity Partners V, an infrastructure fund managed by LS Power Group that focuses on the U.S. power sector.
OCERS also committed $50 million to Stonepeak Opportunities Fund, a middle-market infrastructure fund focusing on the communications, transportation and logistics, social infrastructure, and energy and energy transition sectors.
