Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System, Oklahoma City, committed $160 million to alternative funds-of-funds manager Franklin Park, executive director Tom Spencer said.
The fund at a Feb. 24 board meeting committed $125 million to Franklin Park Co-Investment Fund V, making it the $20.6 billion pension fund's first investment in a private equity co-investment fund, Mr. Spencer said.
The remaining $35 million was committed to funds managed by outside general partners.
The pension fund's board also narrowed its search for an investment consultant to three finalists — Aon, Callan and Meketa Investment Group — which will be interviewed in April.
The pension fund issued an RFP for an investment consultant in November. The contract for current consultant AndCo Consulting expires June 30.
AndCo Consulting, which was invited to rebid, declined to comment.
