Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System, Oklahoma City, hired Empower Retirement as the record keeper for its voluntary SoonerSave and mandatory Pathfinder defined contribution plans, said Joseph Fox, OPERS' executive director, in an email.
The $10 billion pension fund also hired Empower as its stable value fund manager for both plans, Mr. Fox said.
The selections were made at the pension fund's Feb. 16 board meeting. The board had issued an RFP in November.
Empower, the incumbent provider for both services, competed against two other record keepers and 11 other stable value asset managers for the business, Mr. Fox said.
As of Jan. 31, OPERS' SoonerSave and Pathfinder defined contribution plans had a combined $1.4 billion in assets.
