The board of Ohio State Teachers' Retirement System, Columbus, was informed of a commitment of up to $100 million in Churchill Co-Investment Partners II (U.S.), a private equity fund managed by New York-based Churchill Asset Management, a spokesperson for STRS confirmed.
The board was informed of the commitment at the Aug. 16 board meeting.
The spokesperson also confirmed that this marked STRS' first ever commitment to Churchill.
As of June 30, 2024, the $95.3 billion STRS pension fund had a 19.9% actual allocation to alternative investments, slightly above the 19% target. Private equity itself accounted for a 10.5% allocation, but no target was provided.
